The Adixen ASH 2000 leak detector for hydrogen tracer gas can be used to assist users to achieve shorter cycle times.

Often it is the total leakage of an object that sets the reject level. The leak detector has a function that easily sums up the values of different leak measurements and informs the operator if it is below or above the total reject level for the product.

Another advantage is the custom-set sound pitch and increased sound volume that makes leak detection possible even in very noisy environments. Users can also set the detector for soundless until it finds a leak, when the audio comes automatically back on.

The ergonomically designed hand probe is equipped with a sensor at the tip. The tip and the sensor inside can easily be replaced by the operator in seconds. Another feature is the Leak Light flashlight that illuminates the test area on the product.

With the device, Alcatel also allows the operator to set different types of leak alarms and different kind of leak flow units. The battery-operated model provides 9 h of autonomy.

The device includes the Sensistor sensor that has good sensitivity and selectivity to hydrogen. This type of sensor is used in all Adixen hydrogen leak detectors and provides reliability for leak-testing equipment.

Types of Tracer-Gas Leak Detection & Testing

  • Helium Leak Detection & Testing: Leak search and leak rate measurements with helium tracer gas and sensing of this noble gas with mass spectrometer leak detectors has won such a large significance that this method can be marked as the most important leak detection method nowadays.
  • Hydrogen Leak Detection & Testing: Hydrogen is a cheaper gas, but is also hazardous at concentrations above 4%. Therefore it becomes interesting to search for leaks with a test gas mixture of 5% hydrogen and 95% nitrogen. This gas mixture is neither inflammable nor explosive. The use of a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen as a tracer offers major advantages compared with more established helium tracer.
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Leak Detection & Testing: Carbon Dioxide has a lower sensitivity to tests and is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry.
